ChatGPT Masterclass: Basic to Advanced in 4 Easy Steps newmarwat

"Every week, we witness the latest advancements in AI, which are nothing short of magic. If you're still relying on traditional methods to progress in life, then you're undoubtedly missing out. I recently hosted a massive AI and UX meetup in Gurugram. Many students and young professionals traveled from places like Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Kanpur, Chandigarh, and many more.

And here's what they had to say: 'I'm completely amazed and inspired by this.' 'The meetup was fantastic; I came all the way from Mumbai to attend.' 'The workshop was concise and informative, offering a lot of valuable insights.' 'I used to be skeptical about AI, but now I'm a believer.'

With overwhelmingly positive feedback, I've decided to share the most critical parts of my workshop for those who couldn't attend. This way, you can also enhance your skills and stay at the forefront of the field. Without further ado, let's dive right in.

Before all of this began, I was actively educating people through various sessions. There were two types of creators in the market: those who generated fear and those who offered inspiration. However, the overarching narrative was that AI might eventually take over the world.

Naturally, whenever someone instills fear, they often follow it with a pitch – in my case, it was for my course, suggesting that it's essential to stay ahead in the job market. But whether AI truly takes over or not, it was causing anxiety among students. They were concerned about their future, particularly young professionals who were busy with their lives and perhaps didn't pay enough attention to the rise of ChatGPT and Midjourney AI.

To better understand our audience and their expectations, we conducted a quick survey. Most people rated themselves as average with ChatGPT, some as good, and a few as beginners. When it came to Midjourney, most people admitted to having little to no experience. However, some claimed proficiency in Midjourney.

We also asked participants about their expectations for the meetup, and the responses ranged from upskilling and networking to video editing. Most attendees were from a design background. We realized that we had limited time, and it would be unwise to cover topics already extensively addressed online. So, we focused on areas where AI could genuinely make a difference.

We eliminated topics that AI couldn't effectively address and those already covered in previous videos by us or other creators. We refined our selection based on your responses. Therefore, the content you'll see today is entirely up-to-date and tailored to your needs.

I came across an interesting quote that stated, 'Every week, we witness the latest advancements in AI.' This means that AI is continually improving, but there's a difference between being powerful and being useful. While AI tools are getting more powerful every week, many people struggle to understand their practical benefits. This is the gap I aim to bridge today.

I created a graph to illustrate this gap. It shows that as time progresses, AI becomes more powerful. However, the perceived usefulness isn't growing at the same rapid pace. It's crucial to understand how AI can be genuinely useful in our daily lives.

Before we proceed further, I'd like to introduce our latest learning website, howtoprompt.in, where you can access free AI resources, roadmaps, and step-by-step guides to master tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney.

I recently read an article suggesting that the AI hype is fading. Many people were initially excited about AI's potential, but the demand for ChatGPT and other AI tools seems to be decreasing. Contrary to predictions that prompt engineers would dominate the job market, things have remained relatively stable. Some claim that AI prompt engineers can earn substantial salaries, but there are essential questions to consider.

Firstly, are these high-paying jobs available in your country? Secondly, are you familiar with the companies offering these positions, and are you eligible to apply? Finally, are these roles solely about prompt engineering, or do they entail other responsibilities not mentioned in the headline? It's essential to analyze these opportunities critically.

For those wondering whether they should pursue certifications or degrees in addition to their existing education, I recommend not skipping college. College provides valuable life experiences beyond just information. However, if you've already completed your basic degree, you may not need additional certifications for AI, ChatGPT, or Midjourney.

The question of whether to invest in paid courses is often debated. I emphasize a subtle distinction – I don't sell pre-recorded video courses. The reason is that the AI landscape is evolving rapidly. AI tools like ChatGPT and Midjourney are changing frequently. The content in pre-recorded courses can become outdated quickly. Therefore, it's crucial to consider when and how to invest in courses or degrees.

To summarize, investing in paid education is not discouraged, but it's vital to make informed decisions. Now, let's move beyond the introductory information and delve into the heart of our AI sessions."

"These three features are currently in the beta stage, but they are very powerful. So, first of all, turn on Custom Instructions. I will explain what this is, and you have to ensure that your plugin's toggle is on. We will also cover the Code Interpreter now. Once you switch on your plugin's toggle, when you hover over the ChatGPT-4 menu, this menu opens.

If you haven't turned on these plugins, then the default ChatGPT-4 will always work, which is the basic version. Once you select plugins, this is how the plugin store looks. Essentially, these are free plugins; you don't need to pay for them once you have the Pro plan; you can always install any of these.

However, in my practical use, I've realized that some of these plugins may crash, but I'm confident that by December, they will become very stable. Nevertheless, you can always try them out. Now, what are the uses of these plugins? If you want to read a PDF, get a summary of a YouTube video, perform a lengthy edit, or merge PDF files, they have specific plugins for these features, and we won't cover the details here.

You can always read the descriptions, and this information is readily available on the internet, so you don't need me to guide you through it. That covers the plugins part. Next, we have the Code Interpreter. Now, what is the need for a code interpreter? Even in my business consulting work, many people say they have a lot of data to work with, such as Excel sheets, sales numbers, and data analysis. How can they use ChatGPT for that? The Code Interpreter allows you to download CSV files and upload them back into ChatGPT. For example, if you get a result from ChatGPT, you can instruct it to create an Excel file from it. Or you can download your company data in Excel, upload that file into ChatGPT, and ask ChatGPT to perform tasks on it.

I'll demonstrate how it works. I went to my YouTube studio, downloaded all the data into an Excel file, even though I have zero expertise in Excel. I uploaded it into ChatGPT and started asking questions. Please note that this feature only works when you have the Code Interpreter feature enabled with the Pro plan. When you have the Code Interpreter toggle on and select ChatGPT 4 on the top screen, you can choose Code Interpreter. You'll see a plus icon, allowing you to upload your PDF, and then you can ask questions. ChatGPT will internally generate graphs and provide them to you.

The last feature we'll cover is Custom Instructions. I'll explain its use. Often, I provide UX design marketing prompts in conversations, and at some point, I find it frustrating because I have to specify in every conversation to act as a B2B marketer, act as a UX designer, keep answers concise, avoid marketing jargon, and so on. There are certain things I believe ChatGPT should be aware of in every conversation.

Custom Instructions help with this. In your settings tab, you'll find a Custom Instructions option at the top. When you click on it, it presents two input fields. First, it asks, "What would you like ChatGPT to know about you?" Here, you can provide information like where you live, what you do, the tasks you work on, subjects you can discuss extensively, and your goals. This way, you don't have to reestablish context repeatedly.

The second input field is about how you want ChatGPT to respond. For example, you can specify instructions like "keep your answers concise," "avoid using marketing jargon," "use plain English," or even specify if you're comfortable with responses in Hindi.

These instructions help you save time when prompting ChatGPT and eliminate the need to reiterate context. To summarize, we've covered the basics, but I've also launched a website called howtoprompt.in, where I've explained these concepts in detail. I went through a survey and realized that many people have questions about these topics. If there are those among you who haven't used Custom Instructions or Code Interpreter, I encourage you to explore these features further. Everything you need to know is available on my YouTube channel and website.

Before we move forward, it's essential to understand that ChatGPT is not here to replace humans but to assist them in delivering better work. There are two scenarios: first, you can complete the same amount of work in less time, and second, you can deliver higher quality work to more people in the same amount of time. Other tools are also evolving, especially in the realm of multilingual capabilities. For a long time, many text-to-speech and text-to-image tools didn't support Hindi, but now there are solutions like ElevenLabs offering inbuilt Hindi models. So, platforms with extensive data are creating niche-based solutions.

This means that AI is becoming more tailored to specific tasks and problems. Now, let's delve into the last module, where we'll learn about planning your next career move. This is arguably the most important module."
